主讲人简介:

Dr. lsabel Pont Castejón,Doctor of Law and Professor of Administrative Law at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, she is renowned for her specialization in environmental law and sustainability, infrastructure and transport law, and legal consultancy on interdisciplinary issues. Since 2022, she has been the director of the ICTA-UAB (Institute of Environmental Science and Technology), a Maria de Maeztu-accredited center of Excellence. This institute comprises over 200 professionals and specializes in interdisciplinary research on environmental and sustainability issues.

With a professional career in environmental law dating back to 1985, her doctoral thesis focused on the U.S. public environmental law system. She has published numerous works, delivered conferences, and organized courses on 19 various environmental law subsectors and instruments, with a particular interest in the role of public administrations in their development and implementation. She served as a reinforcement judge in the contentious-administrative jurisdiction for two judicial years and was appointed as a member of the Legal Advisory Commission of the Generalitat de Catalunya (2009-2018). Between 2009 and 2013, she held the position of Secretary-General of the UAB and represented the Spanish Environmental Law Association in Catalonia. Additionally, she was appointed as a member of the Advisory Council for Sustainable Development of the Generalitat de Catalunya (2005-2009 and renewed 2012-2019). She has been visiting professor and gived lectures at several national, European, and American universities, including Vermont, Edinburgh, various Chinese universities, Sofia, Tbilisi, Santiago de Chile... She is a member of the Observatorio de Políticas Ambientales (OPAM), the Catalan Group of Climate Change Experts (GECC), and the Scientific Committee of Aranzadi Medio Ambiente journal. She has also contributed to the Ethics Committee for Animal and Human Experimentation at UAB. She is affiliated with CEDAT and serves on the Advisory Board of the Catalan Association of Environmental Scientists (COAMB). As part of her professional involvement with the Port Authority of Barcelona, she was a member of the Maritime Technical Committee and the Port Environmental Forum, as well as the secretary of the Joint Committee for Monitoring and Environmental Control of the Barcelona Port Expansion Works (1997-2011). Currently, she is a member of the Board for the Protection of the Natural Parc Aiguamolls de l’Empordà and serves as vice-president of the Research Integrity Committee of Catalonia (CIR-CAT). She is also a member of the Academic Advisory Board for the 2030 Agenda of the Barcelona City Council. Beyond her research activities, she has provided legal advice to various public administrations on future legislative initiatives and procedural challenges, as well as issues related to allocation of powers, noise pollution, maritime activities, the use of animals, environmental impact assessments for projects, and strategic assessments of plans and programs.
