Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and Newcastle University have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding on teaching and research cooperation in law.
The MoU was signed by XJTU Vice-President LU Tianjian and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Ella Ritchie of Newcastle Univeristy on behalf of the two parties. It derives from an in-depth discussion with a visiting delegation from Newcastle Univeristy on faculty training, joint cultivation and research cooperation, and many previous efforts. The visiting delegation consists of Professor Chris Rodgers, Dean of Newcastle Law School, and Dr. Deming Liu, Lecturer at the school. They were met in the discussion by XJTU Vice-President CHENG Guangxu, XJTU Graduate School Vice-President HE Maogang, Dean SHAN Wenhua of XJTU Law School and Dr. LIANG Li, Director of XJTU Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges.
During the visit, Professor Rodgers and Dr. Liu also held seminars at the Silk Road Institute for International and Comparative Law, on the topics of “Climate Change–What Role for the Law?” and “Moral Rights under UK Copyright Law” respectively.
